How is TOEFL Scored? When are the scores posted online
The TOEFL iBT provides scores in four skill areas:
Listening 0â€"30
Reading 0â€"30
Speaking 0â€"30
Writing 0â€"30
Total Score 0â€"120
The total score is the sum of the four skill scores.
Scores are posted online usually within 15 days after the test date, then mailed to the institutions you selected.
How long is TOEFL Score valid ?
TOEFL Scores are vaild for 2 years.
Requesting additional score report
The test fee includes up to 4 official score reports that ETS will send directly to the institutions or agencies you select when you register. If you wish to send your scores to more institutes, you can do this for a fee of US$17 per report. You can send your request for additional reports in the following ways :
1. Online

If you are paying by credit/debit card, you may fax this form to TOEFL Services at 1-610-290-8972.

I want to request ETS to send my score report to an institution. How can I do this?
To order an official score report for an institution :
1. Go to the TOEFL website and check the list of agencies and institutions that accept TOEFL scores.
2. Find the name of the agency/institution to which you want your score report sent.
3. Write the name, address, and institution code where indicated.
4. Many institutions have multiple codes for different departments - please check the institution and department codes carefully to be sure your score reports are sent to the correct location.
5. If the institution or agency does not have an assigned code number, fill in the institution name and complete mailing address, and leave the institution code area blank.
I didn't include the universities when I register for TOEFL test, and now I have to pay $18 for each order. Is there any chance for me to send my TOEFL score to universities with free?
The requirement of the TOEFL score varies from university to university. Certain score might be good for admission to one university and an average for the other university.
Before you begin studying, you should find out what the requirements are for the school, college or university you are interested in going to. Remember that the scores for the paper based test are different than the scores for the iBT. The average minimum score required is approximately 550 (paper test) or 70 (iBT). However, prestigious universities have much higher expectations. Some schools will look at your scores from different sections. Many universities expect you to achieve higher writing skills than speaking skills. Also, TOEFL scores are only valid for two years.
The minimum TOEFL iBT Score for Assured Admission
Typical admissions policies:
101-120: admission assured (graduate)
80-100: admission probable (graduate)
61-79: admission reviewed(graduate)
43-60: Individual cases reviewed
120 is the highest TOEFL iBT Score.
Can you please tell me if I need to take TSE along with TOEFL iBT? When are TOEFL score cards send?
No, you are not required to take TSE
along with TOEFL iBT.Since TOEFL iBT includes a Speaking section, institutions
and agencies will no
longer need to have a separate TSE score
requirement. TSE will be available upon
request in
locations where the TOEFL paper-based
test is administered.
Score Reports indicate scores in four skill areas: speaking,
listening, reading, and writing and a total score. The scores are
reported online 15 business days after the test. Once the test
takers have selected colleges and universities as score recipients,
colleges can also view scores. The hard copies of score reports are
also mailed after the scores have been posted online.
Score Reports also include performance feedback that indicates
whether the performance was high, medium or low.

British council & IDP both issue TRF for college…You should approach them and arrange for the special copy for the university. Please let us know in which country and University you have applied because Australia, New Zealand & Singapore will accept the attested copy but US, Canada & UK might not accept just copy or ETS number.

Are there any universities which admit students who achieve
score 77pts? I found many universities but their requirements at
least 79pts. I need two more points. I asked them if I could go to
a preparation course or something… the answer was negative.
Any suggestions? (except to take again the TOEFL Test)
If someone fail the test, is s/he required to pay the full fee
again?
And also what are the average accepted marks for TOEFL IBT

please help me…..i had given my toefl ibt exam on august14,2010 along with my four friends at bangalore…..there result have been released on 26august,2010…but my score is not available…..what should i do…plz give my some suggestions

I did my TOEFL test on September 11
2010. I received my scores via the web on September 22 2010.
However I still have not received my TOEFL iBT paper score report which is/was due to be
posted to me. I need this document so that I may apply for my UK
student visa as my course begins in January.
My question is when is the paper score report posted after the

I enter all the required credit card details still i get the message "we cannot complete the transaction from the details you have entered". Hi, I have taken my TOEFL IBT test on may 14, i have seen myscore in online on may 27th and i received my score card also. but i am worrying now when i want to see my tofel score in online it is showing not available, what that means is it cancelled? what should i do could please anyone give me suggestion.

Same thing has happened to me. I took the test on 9th july. The
scores were available ol and i have received hard copy too.
But today when i checked I can see that score is showing as
unavailable. Did u have to retake the test. Please reply asap. Its
very urgent for me.
